Shower-Set MOQ: Planning Mixed Models, Colours and Branding

Understand which order level an MOQ applies to and prepare separate quantities for models, finishes, configurations and custom packaging.

A useful shower-set MOQ answer identifies what the minimum applies to: the product, configuration, finish, custom change or packaging run. Do not assume that a large combined order total meets every minimum within it. Prepare quantities by actual purchasing unit, then confirm the supplier's order-specific requirements.

This guide explains how to structure that discussion. It does not publish a fixed Quality Sanitary Ware MOQ, accept every mixed order or set a sample policy.

Ask “minimum for what?”

A first-order brief can have several layers. An existing catalogue configuration, a custom colour, a logo and a printed box may need separate commercial consideration. Ask which minimum applies at each relevant level rather than treating one number on a webpage as the answer to all projects.

Ask “minimum for what?”
LevelExample of the decision to clarify
Product familyCan different configurations be considered together?
Exact configurationIs the minimum attached to the supplied parts combination?
FinishMust a colour be ordered in a particular quantity?
BrandingDoes a requested marking change the minimum or setup scope?
PackagingIs the requirement per printed design or box size?
Combined shipmentWhich accepted order lines may be shipped together?

These are questions to resolve, not a claim that each supplier imposes all six minimums. Keep the answer beside the relevant line of the quote so the quantity basis stays visible.

A mixed-order example

Suppose a buyer proposes 20 bright-silver three-outlet sets, 20 bright-silver four-outlet sets and 20 matte-black four-outlet sets from one family. The arithmetic total is 60 sets, but there are three configuration lines and two finishes.

Those quantities are illustrative, not an offer or a QSW minimum. They show why a request saying only “60 sets mixed” leaves important decisions unanswered. If the supplier's minimum applies per finish or configuration, the combined total alone may not resolve it.

The actual QSW range 1049663109937 has three- and four-outlet versions in bright silver, matte black and gunmetal grey. Its configuration options can support a precise mixed-order enquiry, while accepted quantities and order terms still need confirmation.P07

Reduce complexity without pretending demand is known

Our recommendation for an untested range is to make each variant justify its place. Start with the installation and functions your customers request, then add finishes and accessory choices deliberately. This is an inventory-planning approach, not evidence that a particular number of variants is optimal.

Do not assume that offering every option creates a better first order. A mixer-only item, a fixed-holder hand-shower set and a slide-rail set are different selling units in range 1050584560218. Splitting an order among them needs a reason tied to customer requirements, not simply the existence of eleven catalogue choices.P11

A useful worksheet records the buying reason next to each proposed line: replacement mixer demand, complete hand-shower package or a requested rail arrangement. If the reason is only a guess, label it as a trial and keep the quantity decision reviewable.

Separate samples from saleable stock

A sample enquiry and a wholesale-stock order should not be treated as the same commercial commitment. Confirm the selected sample configuration, fees, preparation arrangements and what the sample will be used to approve.

Do not assume a sample can be obtained at the eventual bulk price or that its fee will be credited automatically. A credit, refund or free-sample arrangement should be stated only when it is actually agreed.

For a range with several configurations, identify whether one representative sample is enough for the review or whether the differing assemblies need separate evaluation. A finish sample does not necessarily approve every accessory combination in that finish.

Make the first quotation easy to revise

Ask for the accepted quantities and any alternatives as clearly separated lines. If the supplier suggests consolidating colours or changing the combination, request the effect on components, packing and price before accepting the change.

Use an alternative column rather than allowing substitutions to overwrite the original request. This makes it possible to compare the initial plan with the offered plan without losing track of why a model was selected.

The same discipline applies to timing. Record whether the lead-time estimate depends on all quantities, artwork and packaging being approved together. Do not assume a mixed assortment can ship as soon as its fastest individual item is ready.

What to send in the first message

A concise starting brief includes the product family, proposed configuration quantities, finish choices, destination and whether branding is required. It is acceptable to say quantities are provisional. The purpose is to obtain a meaningful order-specific answer, not to present an artificial certainty about future demand.

After receiving the quotation, confirm what counts toward each minimum and what happens if one line is reduced or removed. Keep those decisions with the version of the order that is approved.

Buyer questions

Does a catalogue option prove a low MOQ?

No. It proves an option is listed in the reviewed catalogue, not a particular commercial minimum.

Can a total quantity be spread across different models?

That is an order-specific question. State the proposed split and ask which lines can be combined; do not assume the total settles the issue.

Should I add many colours just to make a mixed order look bigger?

Not without a purchasing reason. Use your customer requirements and trial evidence to guide the mix, then review the actual terms offered.

Prepare a mixed-order worksheet or send your proposed quantities.
