A shower sample should be approved against a defined configuration, not only by how it looks when unpacked. Record the product identity, supplied parts, relevant dimensions, appearance and agreed checks. Keep open issues visible, and link the sample decision to the quotation and production specification.
The workflow below is a suggested buyer approval method. It is not a record of a completed inspection, a certification procedure or a promise that every order includes the same testing service.
Before the sample is prepared
Define what the sample must answer. A buyer comparing two outlet arrangements needs a different review from a buyer checking a new logo, installation fit or package design. Identify the exact model, catalogue reference, configuration and revision.
List what is representative of the intended bulk order and what is not. A sample may use a provisional package or an unapproved finish; those differences should be explicit rather than discovered after it arrives. Confirm preparation and delivery arrangements separately from future bulk-production timing.
Unpack against a configuration-specific list
Photograph the product identification and all received parts. Compare them with the agreed contents rather than with a generic picture from another model.
For range 1050584560218, the mixer-only option has no hand shower, hose or rail. The corresponding fixed-holder and slide-rail combinations add specific parts. A sample missing a rail is therefore acceptable for one purchasing unit and a discrepancy for another.P11
| Approval area | Record to keep | An example of an unresolved issue |
|---|---|---|
| Identity | Model, reference, configuration and revision | Sample label does not identify the selected option |
| Contents | Counted parts and labelled photographs | Promised holder or hose not received |
| Appearance | Agreed finish reference and sample photos | Different components have not been compared together |
| Dimensions | Measured values and relevant drawing | Connector detail not established |
| Functions | Agreed checks and actual conditions | Simultaneous outlet use not documented |
| Packaging | Exact package and protective arrangement | Retail box still provisional |
| Decision | Accepted, conditionally accepted or rejected, with reasons | A critical requirement remains unresolved |
The table is a record design, not a set of automatic pass/fail thresholds.
Review installation without improvising a test
Have installation and functional checks performed by appropriate personnel under the agreed conditions. Do not force mismatched connectors, bypass components or treat an improvised demonstration as proof of safe operation.
Supply layout matters. The ZT-DDMZZS example connects to upward-facing exposed pipes, while ZT-DDYZ is documented with wall-facing supply outlets. A sample of one arrangement should not approve the other.P08P09
Save the actual drawing and fittings used in the review. If a sample works only with an added connector that is not part of the order, record that dependency before describing the configuration as approved.
Separate visual approval from performance evidence
A display can look correct while its operating conditions remain unconfirmed. For TZ-XM, the product record states water-powered display operation and manual temperature adjustment. A successful display demonstration does not establish automatic thermostatic protection, a minimum activation flow or long-term durability.P03
Likewise, a finish that matches the reference on arrival has not thereby passed a corrosion or life-cycle test. Where such evidence is required, identify the applicable document and tested specimen separately from the visual approval.
This distinction makes a sample review more useful, not less. It prevents the word “approved” from silently covering facts that were never assessed.
Resolve differences before releasing the order
Write a short disposition for every issue. Identify the affected component, the agreed correction, who will confirm it and which document or sample will demonstrate completion. Do not rely on an unlabelled photo attached to a later chat message.
Conditional acceptance should name the condition. For example, a buyer may accept the appearance while holding installation approval until the connection drawing is clarified. That does not mean the entire product is ready for production.
When a replacement sample or revised component is reviewed, keep the old and new records distinguishable. The production instruction should reference the accepted version, not whichever file was sent most recently without explanation.
Keep packaging and artwork on their own approval track
If the order includes branded packaging, approve the actual contents, protection and artwork scope. A product sample in a temporary courier box is not a final export-packaging sample. Confirm whether the package is a single-set box, a master carton or a transport overpack.
Retain any agreed labelling and language decisions with the packing revision. Where official product or market markings are required, have their applicability reviewed rather than creating them for appearance.
Questions buyers ask
Does approving one colour approve every colour?
Only to the extent explicitly agreed. Record which finishes and assemblies the review covers, especially where different parts or artwork are involved.
Can a product be accepted with missing information?
A decision can be conditional, but the missing item and its release condition must remain visible. Do not treat an unverified critical requirement as passed.
What is the minimum useful approval record?
Keep the identified configuration, parts list, relevant photos and drawings, review results, unresolved items and dated acceptance decision. Link them to the corresponding quote and order.
Discuss a sample configuration or review the inspection worksheet before arranging the next step.
